When it came time for the concept art and direction, it was decided to be named "Diaspora Junkie", a blooming aesthetic with it's roots in Urban Desi. Like all aesthetics, there is a whole concept behind it, but we'll save that for another time.

Alongside the official DatuKutti Diaspora Junkie campaign art, we will be showcasing work by artists in our community sharing the same theme -- what the bridge between the diaspora and back home looks like, whatever it means to each individual.
Are you an artist that makes pieces reflecting your third culture experience? Want to be featured at the iconic Filipino-Mexican cafe in the heart of the community right at the start of a culture wave that will inevitably crash into Dallas?

᯽ COMMUNITY TILE WALL:
Design or color a tile to put up on our community tile wall, showcasing individual tastes and creativity and how they all fit together to create the first Diaspora Showcase tile wall. Maybe make two, one to put up, and one to take home~ (psssst; it's on the BINGO sheet)
᯽ ZINE TABLE:
Laid out when you first walk in, grab a zine to immerse yourself in the world of Diaspora Junkie. Contents include photographs and poetry by Empress AloeVera.
᯽ PHOTOBOOTH:
Take a picture behind our hand-painted frame, get cutie with it. We also have a template available for Instagram stories to further customize every photo you want to take.
❖ MUSIC:
DJ KSHAL will be spinning music from across the diaspora, so saddle up to hear some faves or to write some down. There will also be special performances by (for now) surprise guests ✨
❖ MERIENDA:
SNACKSSSSS!✨ Our host, Cafe Frida has tons of fusion goodies for purchase. Call us biased, but October is Filipino American History Month. They've got tons of different snacks and drinks, but we recommend the Ube Latte & Ube Tres Leches 😜

Our Tagay Tayo San Miguel & Pulang Kabayo Red Horse tees, never properly announced, but was rolled out for Lone Star Palengke 2024, will now also be available in black.
Just imagine this as the desi girls line. The first graphic was actually done at the same time as our Jollibae - Jaanibee Tee, but we couldn't decide what we wanted to do with it, so it sat on the back burner until this past summer. Inspired from Otome games. Imagine it as a cut scene.
The second one went through so many different stages, it will be it's own post, which I will link HERE when published.
